A 2,100-year-old giant cat – an “amazing discovery” on the hill
Archaeologists in Peru have discovered an image of a giant cat on a cliff, whose inscription dates back more than 2,100 years, according to the South American Ministry of Culture.
The discovered figure shows a huge cat, reaching 37 meters in length, with its head raised high on a hill and looking straight ahead, while the body and tail extended toward the bottom of the slope.
The ministry said the discovery took place when Peruvian archaeologists were carrying out conservation work in the historic Nazca region in southern Peru, and its inscription dated back to between 200 and 100 BC.
