
Hundreds were evacuated due to a fire in the port of Le Havre in northern France
French firefighting teams are working to extinguish a large fire that broke out today, Saturday, in an abandoned building in the port of Le Havre in the north of the country.
The police of one of the largest French ports confirmed in a tweet posted on their official account on “Twitter” that they are working to evacuate the houses surrounding the site of the accident, noting that the smoke has spread widely.

Local authorities stated that 70 firefighters, 25 cars and about 20 policemen were taking part in putting out the flames, while BFMTV confirmed that the evacuations had affected about 300 people.
And local media reported that the fire broke out inside a former warehouse of the “Lipton” tea company.
There were no immediate reports of injuries from the accident.
Activists on social media circulated footage confirming columns of thick smoke rising over the building.
