Ivanka, the daughter of US President Donald Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who are both senior White House aides, threatened to sue a group of anti-Trump Republicans for posting ads on a billboard in New York City’s Times Square linking them to about 225,000 deaths from the Corona virus in the country.
Attorney Mark Kasowitz, who represents Ivanka and Kushner, made the threat on Friday in a letter to Project Lincoln describing the ads as “false, malicious and defamatory.” He added that it constitutes “shameful and disgraceful defamation.”
“If these billboards are not removed immediately, we will sue you for that, which will undoubtedly cost you huge and disciplinary damages,” Kasowitz said in his message, which was published by the Lincoln Project on Twitter.
Kassowitz’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
But Project Lincoln responded in a statement with separate posts, “Crazy! … billboards will remain in place.”
